Biography
Titus Schleyer, DMD, PhD, is Clem McDonald Professor of Biomedical Informatics at Indiana University and the Director of the Center for Biomedical Informatics at the Regenstrief Institute (http://www.regenstrief.org/). He holds DMD degrees from the University of Frankfurt, Germany, and Temple University, Philadelphia, as well as a PhD degree in molecular biology from the University of Frankfurt and an MBA degree in Health Administration from Temple University. Dr. Schleyer has been active in informatics research since 1989, conducting seminal research on electronic health records, and Internet applications, workflow and human-computer interaction in dentistry. Dr. Schleyer's informatics research is primarily funded by the National Institutes of Health. He publishes regularly on informatics topics in major journals, such as the Journal of the American Dental Association and the Journal of the American Medical Informatics Association. He also serves as director of the biomedical informatics core of the Indiana Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute. In 2009, Dr. Schleyer was elected to the American College of Medical Informatics for his significant and sustained contributions to the field of biomedical informatics.
